Light Summer Dress

It's Summer, so I chose a perfect dress for hot weather: light, white and cute.  I paired it with the most comfy shoes I own, cork wedges from Payless.  To complete the outfit, I'm wearing a pretty new necklace that my friend dimi made with her own little hands.

I hope you're staying cool!

  1. I love the cork wedges with that light and breezy dress. The hem detail is just lovely!

I'm thinking the necklace is too chunky and high to go with the outfit... I can't wait to see what else you pair that cute gift with in future posts!

  2. Ooh, girl - that lacy bit makes it pretty dangerous on those killer legs! :)

Love it. Glad you are making time to dress.

  3. I love the dress. Where is it from? Did I miss that?

Sorry to hear about your friend Larry. My grandpa had a stroke last year in the middle of heart surgery. I know how difficult it is. At least your friend has his speech. My grandpa doesn't, and I think that's been one of the most difficult things, on top of the seizures and other problems that come along with strokes. :| The huge difference, though, is that my grandpa is 80-some years old, and Larry is only 45. How horrible. At least he made it! That's the most important thing.

  4. Ooh that dress is so cute. I love a white summer dress. The peekaboo hemline makes that one extra special. I love the chunky necklace. I think it fills in the décolletage area nicely.

  5. The lace hemline is very cute! Though the dress would be even more awesome if it wasn't empire-style.

  6. Thanks for the education, Poet. I didn't know what empire-style was, so I went and looked it up. There's so much I don't know -- and wish I did -- about being a girl.

  7. Ashley, I picked up this dress from a vendor at a local festival; the only tag in it says "Magic." It was only $10, so it's not haute coulture.

  9. In this heat, you absolutely MUST have a lightweight summer dress. I could really use one right now because the humidity is, like, 90% or whatever.

Satan called. He wants his weather back.

  11. Hey!! That's my necklace!! Thanks for the mention and I'm so glad you got to use it with a lovely dress like that! And you even added something to it - I meant the little heart to be at the side, but it's cute when it's centered too! Thank you Ally! I get so excited and happy when I see other people wearing the jewellery I've made! Kisses !

  13. Nicely done - I really like the detail on the hem of that dress.
Next time I will bring something for Allie.
How'd it go with the ties ? Did they bring you good luck ?

  14. You have amazing legs! Love this dress with the wedges--but maybe a different necklace--something a little less chunky--maybe small beads, layered necklaces? That would be really cute--also--how cute would some shimmery bronze or coral polish be on your toes in those shoes? Try it!
