Pro Photos

I ran across some wonderful photographs taken by professional news-photographers and want to share them with you.  These are all of actual events.  The first photo, which won First Prize in the World Press competition, looks like a painting but is a real picture of a real event.

Do you have any skill with a camera?

  2. Wow, those are some amazing pictures, I love the tiger.

I have zero skill with photography, so I'm in awe of those who do have skill!

  3. Ugh, I wish! I'd love to be better with a camera.

Also, I'm not sure if you know this, but if you use someone else's pics on your blog, it's common courtesy to link back to the original source. To avoid copyright infringement and be polite and whatnot. Just a thought :)

  4. LOVE these! They're beautiful! I actually love photography and taking pictures. I might have a little talent in this area if I would take some lessons and actually learn how to use a camera with all it's settings and lenses...It runs in our family, my mom takes great pictures and so does my oldest nephew, but none of us are pros...

  5. I think the first one definitely should have won the contest because those bulls are heading straight for him/her not sure I would like to be standing there. Cool photos!

  7. Haha, that dog looks so pissed off! And don't you just hate it when kangaroos take over the golf course? :)

Professional photos are so amazing. I took photography in college, but that was back in the day when we had to develop our own photos in a dark room.

  8. Incredible photographs. The last one gave me a good giggle.

I'm a terrible photographer. I always manage to focus on the things behind what I'm taking a picture of. But the DH usually does the photographs anyway so it usually turns out okay. I'll keep taking semi-focused pictures of my food and be happy with that ability. ;)

  9. Loved the diversity!

My photography skills are limited, but learning along the way. Would love to take a class some day soon.

  10. Love all of them Ally, but my favourite would have to be the last one.

I have limited photography skills but love snapping pics whenever I can and always have the old point and click handy. I'm thinking about getting a SLR one day soon and playing with it but dont really have the time or the inclination to take classes on photography, there are other things more important at the moment. I like learning by doing anyway.

  14. These are very nice, my favourite may be the first one, given the motion almost coming through the photo. So artistic and beautiful.
