Full-Blown Glamour

I mentioned earlier that, while shopping in Hudson, I bought a ballgown. It was only $18 -- a priceless ticket for one of my fondest dreams.

The gown, being fancy, deserves full-blown glamour treatment. So I added a sparkly fascinator, my highest heels, more jewelry than Zsa Zsa Gabor, and enough eye-makeup to rival Tammy Faye Bakker (Messner). Yes, I went over-the-top but when you have as much bottled-up desire as I do, sometimes the pressure-cooker blows. Boom!

Any thoughts?

  3. Glamour girl! You look lovely, Ally. The necklace + bracelet/cuff are just right - a good balance in accessories. I have a fascinator like that - I love the wee hat!

  7. Great dress and you did a great job of pulling things together. It works well with the makeup, jewelry and heels.
I am always impressed that you are able to find such nice things, that all seem to fit so nicely, in your thrift store visits.

  9. You are the magic manifester of amazing dresses at a steal!!! I love the colors of this and how you paired it with the little hat tilted on the side. Jewelry usually doesn't look as over the top in photos as you feel like it looks in person. :)
