Holiday Cards

I love sending cards to my friends, so when the holidays roll around, I go nuts.  I spend lots of time picking out the perfect card.  For many years, my holiday cards had a motorcycling theme.  Last year, I shifted to a fashion theme.  I sent cards displaying a drawn image of a Christmas tree made from high heels.  People liked the card.

This year, I want something fashion-related but more personal.  Something me.  After hours canvassing the Internet in vain, a thought popped into my head -- why not make my own cards?!  After all, I have some skill at photography.  I own raw materials.  And it promised to be a fun exercise.  So I embarked on the creative journey.

The image I created is shown below.  You've seen me wear those heels before (here).

The cards are printed by a custom-printer (CafePress) so, if you want, you can order some for yourself.  Then again, if you're reading this, you'll probably get one in the mail!

What do you think of the image?  Do you enjoy sending out holiday cards?

  16. So cute! I love getting your cards...they always bring a smile to my face, even (and maybe especially) when I'm having a bad day. I don't usually send holiday cards, because my living situation (cohabiting with my bf) is a touchy subject for some of my family members. But I'm sure I'll jump on the bandwagon after we get married :)

  18. Sparkly hats off, dear Ally, that is such a smashingly great card! I'm a paper crafter and love to make my own holiday cards (if my health is in the mood to cooperate as December nears into sight), too. There's something to deeply awesome about knowing you're sending a truly unique greeting to your nearest and dearest.

  27. you did a great job! I'm the worst at sending cards. Basically I never send Christmas cards. I'm hopeful that will change once I have a family of my own lol

  28. You did such a wonderful job designing your holiday card, Ally! I love it.
(And, btw, the poses you commented on were inspired by YOU and YOUR femininity. I kid you not. Once I put the purse in the crook of my arm it made a world of difference in how I felt while posing and you immediately came to mind because I always admire your lovely poses so much. Truly I do. To feel I had acquired a bit of your grace and loveliness made me happy....and now every time I pose in this new for me way I think of you. Hugs.)
