The End of "Mad Men"

"Mad Men" is one of the best-written masterpieces of television. After seven seasons, it ends on Sunday. I'm sad to see it go. I watched the first episode when it appeared and got instantly hooked. I've seen every episode since then and am entranced by the fabulous characters. Don, Peggy, Roger, Betty, Joan.

In addition to the top-notch drama, the accuracy of earlier eras' fashion and objects is exceptional. I recognize the telephones, the lamps, the furniture. And the widespread drinking and cigarette-smoking. The show depicts those times so well.

Here's how I feel...

  1. As much as I love Mad Men and will miss it, the current fashions are not really doing it for me and the big draw initially were the gorgeous clothes.

  4. That's the saddest, cutest little baby I've ever seen. I want to climb through the screen and give her anything she wants...

  7. You and me both, my friend!!! I've seen every last episode (many twice) and know that it will take quite some time to come to grips with the end of a television era. On the plus side, I actually (for the most part) really liked how they wrapped up the series, which is not common for me and TV shows in general (oh my word, don't even get me started on how Dexter ended - grrr! ;)). That just drives home, one last time, why Mad Men was continually my favourite show the whole time it was on the air - and why, I'm certain, it will always remain in my top favourites for all of time.

    1. I agree. And I like how it ended. Fortunately they didn't put Don on a boat going into a storm where we believe he died but later shows up on a lumber farm... :-)

  8. LOL I never watched Mad Men, but now that it is over I might. I have been a bit behind on shows, but I really like the Daredevil show on Netflix! It is funny, and dark, and just amazing!
